Towering Oaks Lodge, located near Chetek, WI, is just 55 minutes from Eau Claire, WI, and 2 hours from the Twin Cities.
It started as a vacation...
In 1997, our log home was lovingly built by the previous owners, Duane and Rita, after they fell in love with vacationing on the shores of Potato Lake from their home in Illinois. There are signs of their creativity and imagination throughout the cabin. From the etched wildlife pictures above each window and the outhouse theme of the main floor bathroom to the unique light fixtures in the kitchen and dining areas.
Although it has been a lot of work, it has been a joy to update Towering Oaks Lodge since we purchased it in 2021. We look forward to sharing our little piece of Northern Wisconsin with you and we hope you love it as much as we do.

There is always something to do at Towering Oaks Lodge. Enjoy boating, tubing, swimming, fishing, and UTV/ATV trails in the summer.
In the “off-season” experience beautiful fall colors; take advantage of nearby snowmobile trails and great ice fishing; stay in and relax or play ping pong, pool, shuffle board or darts in the lower level rec room.
You can indulge in retail therapy at any of the local shops in nearby Chetek or take a break from the kitchen and visit one of three restaurants/bars on Potato Lake. There are also dozens of restaurants in Chetek to visit. And don’t forget to explore all the supper club style restaurants in the area.

General Policies & Miscellaneous Information
- Check-in is anytime after 4 p.m. We offer contactless or in-person check-in.
- Checkout is 11 a.m.
- Changes to either must be approved 24 hours in advance.
- 2 night minimum stay is required; 4 night minimum stay from May 1 – Labor Day.
- At this time we are not a pet friendly rental. Bringing any pet(s) will result in forfeiture of 100% of security deposit plus additional fines/cleaning fees.
- A signed contract and 50% of total amount is due 30 days prior to check-in; the remaining amount due is required 7 days prior to check-in.
- “Courtesy Holds” may be available upon request.
- Cancellations may be accepted. Refunds generally will not be given within 7 days of check-in. Cancellations are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Additional and more detailed policies will be provided with your reservation.
- PLEASE NOTE: Renters should be comfortable navigating stairs (about 45 steps to the lake; stairs to lower level and to loft) as well as uneven terrain.
